Should Coretta Scott King lie in state like Rosa Parks?

Coretta Scott King, Widow Of Martin Luther King Jr., Dead at 78

Coretta Scott King, widow of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and promoter of his philosophy of nonviolent social change and racial harmony, has died, according to a statement released by her family Tuesday morning (January 31st). She was 78. The statement read, "Mrs. Coretta Scott King, first lady of human and civil rights, died overnight." King had been in failing health since suffering a stroke and mild heart attack last August. She was in California at the time of her death.

Born in Marion, Alabama, Coretta Scott rose from poverty and met her future husband while studying at the New England Conservatory of Music. She worked closely with him while he ascended to become the symbol of the civil rights movement. Although Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1968 assassination left Coretta alone with four children to raise, she continued to campaign for social justice and made two goals a reality: the creation of a national holiday celebrating her husband and the establishment of a nationally recognized center in Atlanta to honor his memory and serve as a research center for scholars studying his work and the civil rights era.

Drew Kesse joined me this morning to see if we could help find his missing daughter.

It's a been a full week now since the Jennifer Kesse was last seen.

Family members admit they're getting desperate in their search for clues in the disappearance of 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse.

It's a been a full week now since the UCF graduate was last seen. Investigators think she was on her way to work from her home at the Mosaic Condominiums one week ago today when something happened.

Yesterday, Kesse's parents unveiled new photos of her car which was found abandoned last week just a couple of miles away.

Jennifer’s father Drew Kesse said, "You've not seen this before. You've seen it on a tow truck. Please take a good look at it. And don't be afraid, stand up, be a great citizen. If you know anything about this situation, a person around it, person in it, a car next to it, a building behind it you might recognize, that yeah I saw something. We are desperate at this point, please give a call."

The reward for information in Kesse's disappearance still stands at $115,000.

Once again, if you have any information in the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse, call Crimeline at (407) 423-TIPS or 1-800-423-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

LA radio personality puts conditions on Muslim apology

Bill Handel morning host at KFI stopped by this morning to tell his side of the story. He also challenged my listeners to Google the words C.A.I.R + terrorist to get an education as to who and what he's up against.

LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles radio personality said Monday he would apologize for an on-air skit that made fun of the deaths of hundreds of Muslims, but only if an Islamic civil rights group denounces terrorism and acknowledges Israel's right to exist.

The Council of American Islamic Relations demanded the apology last week after KFI 640 host Bill Handel made fun of the deaths of at least 363 Muslims during a stampede at an annual pilgrimage in Mecca.

According to CAIR, Handel imitated the people screaming and then joked that the Muslims at the pilgrimage should use a helicopter to monitor pilgrimage traffic, as is done with Los Angeles' freeway traffic.

On his program Monday, Handel said he would apologize, but only if CAIR agreed to denounce "all bombing or attacks where intended victims are innocent citizens," to acknowledge Israeli sovereignty and to verify that the group has never had connections with any terrorist group or sponsor.

If those conditions are met, "I'll be more than happy to apologize for offending people, I'll apologize all day long," Handel said in a live 12-minute response to CAIR's complaint. He said the station had received hundreds of letters from all over the world demanding an apology.

"CAIR's record is clear. We've had numerous statements denouncing terrorism and all the things he was talking about," said CAIR spokeswoman Sabiha Khan.
She called Handel's conditions a "smoke screen" for his refusal to take responsibility for his remarks.

NFL Player Arrested In Orlando On Gun Charges

Local6 is reporting...

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry was arrested on gun charges in a weekend street altercation, authorities said.

Henry pulled a 9 mm pistol on a group of revelers over the weekend, according to a police report. An officer directing traffic aimed his gun at the 22-year-old Henry and ordered him to drop the pistol, the report states.

Henry froze, then moved toward a limousine in the street and threw the gun inside the car, the report says. The officer pulled Henry away from the limo and pushed him to the ground, according to the report.
Mr. Henry appears to be an avid gun collector and WWII aficionado. He had a stolen Luger in his possession loaded with hollow points. This was his second arrest in 44 days.

From ProFootballTalk.com...

In contrast, Henry was caught red-handed by . . . a cop. Unless the defense can make the whole Mark Fuhrman thing stick, it's highly unlikely that the juror will disregard the officer's sworn account, which likely will be corroborated by members of the group at whom the gun allegedly was pointed -- or by some of the people who were with Henry. Indeed, the official police report indicates that one of the members of Henry's group told police that "Henry had the firearm because they came to the [nearby] club last week and had problems."

Meanwhile, it turns out that the one fact we regarded as conclusive proof that the story was bogus when it was handed to us on Sunday morning turns out to be accurate. In an e-mail, the tipster told us: "Chris Henry arrested in Orlando for possession of a stolen handgun. He was about to point it at someone but was arrested at gunpoint before doing so. He was wearing his Bengal jersey while doing so."

Wearing his Bengal jersey? Riiiiiiiiight.

Um. Take a gander at his mugshot, courtesy of WCPO:

Looks like a Bengals jersey to us. So unless it was a Bob Trumpy throwback or something, our guess is that Chris was honoring himself on the same night that he likely ruined his career, and perhaps his life.

"Believe it or not they were picked up yesterday and some confessed," Florida Today online editor Dave Larimer said. "Here is what they said: They were bored."

Round Three: Swafford's lawyer: Girl told to 'tell right story'

MANATEE COUNTY -- A day after school officials cleared a teacher of harassment allegations brought by a 16-year-old girl, her vigilante father escalated a war of words and promised a lawsuit.

Swafford and the school district held dueling news conferences Friday, each adding more fuel to a story that just won't go away.

Swafford's attorney said the school district is trying to cover up allegations of inappropriate behavior against the teacher's assistant, Deon W. Mathis.

"There was a lot of misinformation provided by the superintendent," said Ron Kurpiers, a St. Petersburg attorney representing Swafford, 42. "Frankly, we're appalled."

Kurpiers blasted the school district for its quick investigation and claimed sexual comments and harassment are common in Mathis' classroom.
Both sides are digging their heels in, nobody is backing down.

Two Orange County sisters, ages 11 and 12, were being used as prostitutes!

5 men arrested in child-sex case
Police say several of the suspects used 2 young Orange County girls as prostitutes.

Two Orange County sisters, ages 11 and 12, were being used as prostitutes for a year or longer, authorities said Friday after arresting five men in the case.

Two other men were being sought.

Four men who shared an apartment would pick the girls up from their home, drive back to their apartment, have sex with the girls and pay them $15 to $50 each.

The girls' stepfather also was molesting them, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Matt Irwin said. The parents denied they knew about their daughters' activities.

Execution by lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CNS) -- With a dramatic last-minute stay of execution Jan. 24, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a Florida inmate's claim that execution by lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment.

The attorney for Clarence Edward Hill said his client was strapped to a gurney with an intravenous line in his arm when Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy issued a temporary stay of execution. The following day the full court issued a brief order saying it would hear Hill's claims that the drugs Florida uses in executions cause pain, making the procedure cruel and unusual punishment and therefore unconstitutional.
What about the victim? Wasn't it cruel and unusual punishment to kill Pensacola police officer, Stephen Taylor, during an attempted bank robbery in 1982? Justice delayed is justice denied!

KING'S WAR CRY

LARRY King likes to get a little Wild West in the sack, according to his much-younger wife, Shawn Southwick. In an unsettling interview with Howard Stern, Southwick claims, "Larry has this Indian costume that just drives me wild . . . I wear chaps!" She adds that 72-year-old King's bedroom battle cries didn't ring out until after they were married in 1997. Southwick, a devout Mormon, made the wrinkled broadcaster wait until their wedding night to have sex - and only after a doctor signed off on it because of King's heart problems.
Talk about information overload. Now there is a picture I didn't need in my head.

57% Americans support military action in Iran

WASHINGTON — Despite persistent disillusionment with the war in Iraq, a majority of Americans supports taking military action against Iran if that country continues to produce material that can be used to develop nuclear weapons, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found.

The poll, conducted Sunday through Wednesday, found that 57% of Americans favor military intervention if Iran’s Islamic government pursues a program that could enable it to build nuclear arms.

District: Educator is innocent

Yesterday: Man punches teacher because his daughter says the teacher was abusing her. Today: Turns out the little girl was lying. What's that hitting the fan?

MANATEE - In a case that has garnered national attention, Manatee County school officials said Thursday they "are convinced" that a Lakewood Ranch High School teacher's assistant who was punched by a student's father is innocent of allegations made by the girl.

Superintendent Roger Dearing said teacher's assistant Deondrick W. Mathis, who has been on paid administrative leave since Tuesday when he was attacked while teaching a class, will return to work on Monday.

"We have found that Mr. Mathis is not guilty of what this young lady has accused him of doing, that her accusations are false," Dearing said. "The timelines don't match up and the other students in the class don't corroborate her story. He will be back to work on Monday."

Dearing said the school district plans to start disciplinary proceedings against the girl and at least two of her friends who allegedly fabricated stories to back up her account. Penalties imposed by the school district could include a suspension or expulsion.

In addition, Dearing said the school district will pull out all stops to see that Dave Swafford, the girl's father, will be prosecuted and punished for punching Mathis.

Hugh Da Man! Or, Who Is Joel Stein?

Los Angeles Times columnist Joel Stein isn't backing away from his controversial article on Tuesday's opinion page in which he said that he doesn't support U.S. troops fighting in Iraq and called those who do, quote, "wusses." Conservatives were infuriated by the article, in which Stein said the soldiers were, quote, "ignoring their morality," linking to it on many conservative web sites and blogs.

Stein said he's been inundated with hate mail, but that he has no regrets, telling Reuters, "I don't support what [the troops] are doing, and I don't see the point of putting a big yellow magnet on your car if you don't. I don't think they are necessarily bad people. ... But I don't agree with what they're doing, so I don't see the logic of supporting it." Stein said he believes that whenever a politician opposes the war, but supports the troops, quote, "I just think they are covering their ass."

What do you think of Stein saying that he doesn't support the U.S. troops in Iraq because he doesn't support the war?

What do you think of Stein saying the soldiers are, quote, "ignoring their morality"?

HERE is why Joel Stein won't come on my show. He got shut down hard by Hugh Hewitt

Schiavo, Centonze Wed In Catholic Church?!?

How embarrassing! How is this possible?

SAFETY HARBOR, FLA---She's divorced.

They are the parents of two illegitimate children.

They've lived together in an adulterous relationship for over 10 years.

Their friends say adultery was okay because he was looking for companionship but refusing to divorce his wife.

After he fought the Vatican, Congress, the President and the Governor, he was successful in obtaining a court order to kill his wife, fighting her parents in the courts, all the way to Washington. He just hadn't planned that it would take so long to kill her and he would have to spend nearly all of the $2 million realized from phony medical malpractice claims before he would be successful in ending the life of the person he claimed he would devote his life to take care of----Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

Terri became incapacitated on Feb. 25, 1990 at age 26 following suspicious circumstances at their home, sustaining brain damage. After he received nearly $2 million through bogus medical malpractice claims, claiming that she suffered from bulimia which an autopsy strongly dispelled, he began his quest to end her life, suddenly remembering that Terri had said at age 22 that she wouldn't want to be kept alive by artificial means. Although her parents argued that she never would have said that because it went against her religious beliefs, his self-serving hearsay won out, ruled as clear and convincing evidence that she had expressed her death wish.

Less than 10 months after her barbaric death by starvation and dehydration over 13 grueling days with the whole world watching although he claimed he was protecting his wife's privacy, Michael Schiavo wed his concubine, Jodi Centonze Saturday.

She wore white but she's not pure and chaste. They were wed in a Catholic church but Michael Schiavo defied virtually every church rule and policy concerning the religious beliefs and practice of his wife----even cremating her remains and denying her Communion.

A day after they obtained a marriage license from the clerk of the circuit court of Pinellas County, Michael Schiavo and Jodi Centonze were wed in the Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor in a private ceremony apparently known only to family, friends and the St. Petersburg Times.
It's unknown if Jodi Centonze Schiavo has executed a living will.

DNA Frees Florida Man After More Than 24 Years in Jail

Alan Crotzer was freed Monday (January 23rd) after more than 24 years in a Florida jail after DNA testing and other evidence convicted prosecutors that he wasn't involved in the armored robbery, kidnapping and rapes for which he got a 130-year prison sentence. The 45-year-old Crotzer was freed with help from the Innocence Project, which uses DNA testing to exonerate wrongly-convicted inmates. The legal clinic says that DNA has been used to clear at least 172 people wrongly convicted of crimes in 31 states since 1989.

Crotzer and brothers Douglas and Corlenzo James were convicted of robbing a Tampa family in 1981, and Crotzer and Douglas James were additionally found guilty of kidnapping and raping a 38-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter. One of the victims picked Crotzer out of a line-up, and the group Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty says that an all-white jury convicted him after deliberating for one hour. Crotzer is black. Douglas James himself says Crotzer is innocent, and that he and his brother raped the woman and a childhood friend helped carry out the robbery.

Crotzer's attorney will seek compensation from the state, but Crotzer told AP, "There ain't no compensation for what they done to me." Still, he said, "But I'm not bitter."(How could you not be bitter?)

Do you think Crotzer is entitled to monetary compensation from the state of Florida?

Health Insurance in the news

N.J. law insures dependent young adults
State law allows parents to include older adult children on policies

A new law in New Jersey requires insurers to extend family coverage to older children — up to age 30 — as dependents, so long as they are not married and don't have children of their own.

It's one thing for an Insurance comapny to offer this on their own for a higher premium it's another thing for the state to step in and mandadte it. Nothing is free! Who picks up the tab?

To ward off the possibility that employees would fake being in a marriage or gay union to get benefits for friends, the University of Florida has come up with a simple solution: you can get benefits, but you have to be having sex. That would rule out a lot of married couples, actually, and I wouldn't want to be the person in charge of verification.

Why is the ACLU getting involved in an alleged police pursuit?

Jim Phillips from PursuitWatch stopped by to discuss what we know about Friday's incident.

The Central Florida chapter of the ACLU joined forces on Sunday with another local civil-rights organization to look into a fatal crash that was caused by a pickup being followed by Orlando police.

The Friday night accident also sent six people to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown. As of late Sunday, police had not released their names nor the identity of the motorist who died.

A statement from an agency spokeswoman said Sunday that the department would not release any information until today.

Many in the west Orlando neighborhood where the crash occurred gathered Sunday to talk about what they had seen. Civic leaders and neighbors at the crash site expressed distrust in the department's investigation.

"Primarily, because we are a black community, there's complete disregard for our civil rights," Bishop O.M. Vickson I said.

J. Willie David III, president of the Florida Civil Rights Association, said he thinks there's a good chance that officers would protect their own.

46,650,552 Deaths Since Roe vs Wade

Innocent blood: How lying marketers sold Roe v. Wade to America

Abortion and the Twin Towers
by Dave Miller, Ph.D.

Undoubtedly, every American who was old enough to be aware of life’s circumstances, will forever remember where he or she was when news spread that first one, and then a second, airliner had crashed into the World Trade Center, followed by a third collision into the Pentagon. The images and the scenes that followed for days, weeks, and months are forever imprinted into our thoughts and seared into our memories. So are the feelings and the impressions: disbelief, fear, uncertainty, anger, disgust, sadness, and sympathy.

The spectrum of emotions, thoughts, and attitudes that most Americans felt are so diverse and complex that putting them into words may not be easy or adequate. The average American surely felt a great sense of outrage at the injustice of what had been perpetrated upon large numbers of innocent people. The American sense of patriotism was offended, which elicited a corresponding desire for vengeance and due retribution. One of the most heart-rending features of the collapse of the twin towers was the original estimate of anticipated dead: 5,000. However, in time, the final tallies—though terribly tragic—were much lower: 266 died in the ill-fated hijacked airliners while 2,823 died in the twin towers—a total death toll of 3,089 (Feldner, 2002).

Many other horrifying spectacles riddle human history in which thousands, even millions, of people have been slaughtered by their fellowman. The human mind has difficulty in grasping the Jewish holocaust of Hitler’s Nazi regime, which resulted in the extermination of a staggering estimated six million men, women, and children. Reflect upon the torture and killing of multiplied thousands by dictators like Stalin or Saddam Hussein, not to mention the killing fields of Cambodia. How can man’s inhumanity to man possibly be so extensive in its magnitude?

Is the repulsion and revulsion that is evoked by these travesties due simply to the loss of life? Or is humanity’s outrage due to the fact that lives were snuffed out unjustly and unfairly—that those lives were “innocent” of any wrongdoing that their persecutors alleged as justification to terminate their lives? If the former is true, why is no great issue made of the death toll that takes place in the United States everyday? That figure stands at 6,674 (Sutton, 2003)—more than two and a half times as many people as those who died on 9-11. That’s how many people die every day in America—not to mention the thousands who die every day around the world. Why do we feel no great heartache for these multitudes—akin to that which we felt on the occasion of 9-11?

If the latter is true, i.e., that we are outraged, not at the mere loss of life, but at the fact that innocent human beings had their lives taken from them unfairly, and that they had done nothing to deserve such, then where is the outrage concerning the termination of innocent babies by means of abortion? We view with great indignation those “terrorists” who dared to attack and destroy the unsuspecting objects of their callous brutality. Yet, since 1973, abortion clinics and doctors have been slaughtering the unborn population of the United States to an extent that makes the perpetration of previous atrocities in all of human history seem trivial. In the United States alone, more than 43 million babies have been aborted! In 2000 alone, more children died from abortion than Americans who died in the American Revolution, the Civil War, World Wars 1 and II, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the Gulf Wars combined (“Abortion,” 2003). In fact, one American baby was killed by abortion every 24 seconds.

The number of adults who died on 9-11 is surely tragic. But the number of innocent, unsuspecting children who never are permitted to complete their development, to proceed with their lives, to make their own choices, and to pursue their potential as human beings created in the image of God, is more than tragic. At least the terrorists thought they were pleasing their god and achieving his will against what were perceived to be Western degradation and spiritual corruption. But to snuff out the lives of innocent children for the economic and social convenience of mothers is despicable and inexcusable. Those who extinguish these innocent lives are without justification.

The mind has difficulty even comprehending 43,000,000 murdered babies—let alone envisioning the lost potential for good for the entire human race. Make no mistake, the “hands that shed innocent blood” (Proverbs 6:17) will one day face the consequences of their actions (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Hebrew 9:27).

Michael Schiavo applies for marriage license

TampaBays10 is reporting...

TAMPA, Florida -- Court records show that Terri Schiavo's husband Michael has applied for a marriage license. Michael Schiavo and Jodi Centonze applied for a marriage license in Pinellas County yesterday. Their relationship was part of the national right-to-die case of Michael's first wife, Terri Schiavo, who was in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years. Terri Schiavo died March 31 after her feeding tube was pulled. The marriage license is valid for 60 days.
I'm sure Terri would have wanted it this way. She'd want Michael to move on with his life and be happy. Of course my comments are dripping with sarcasm. Thank God for Karma!

Judge: No prison time for 'gay' rapist teacher

Massacusetts Superior Court Chief Justice Suzanne Delvecchio

WND is reporting...

Gregory Pathiakis, 26, of Brockton, Mass., pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of rape of a child, enticement of a child under 16, five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of harmful material to a child, according to the Enterprise newspaper of Brockton, Mass.

Pathiakis, who quit his job after school officials questioned his extracurricular contact with students, was arrested in January 2004 after a 15-year-old boy told authorities the Middleboro High School teacher raped him Dec. 23, 2003.

Prosecutors asked Brockton Superior Court Judge Suzanne V. Delvecchio to give Pathiakis four to eight years in state prison, followed by five years probation. But she issued a suspended, 2 1/2-year jail term, followed by five years probation.

Delvecchio, the first woman to be appointed chief justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court, was honored in 2000 as the keynote speaker at the Massachusetts Gay and Lesbian Bar Association's annual dinner.

Father of 'American Taliban' Asks Bush for Clemency

Frank Lindh, the father of jailed "American Taliban" John Walker Lindh, said yesterday (January 19th) that he's asked President Bush to grant his son clemency. Speaking at the nonprofit Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, Lindh charged that his now 24-year-old son had been unjustly punished amid public hysteria in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, and had been tortured by U.S. forces after he was captured in November 2001 fighting alongside the Taliban in Afghanistan. Lindh said, "The maltreatment and imprisonment of John Lindh was -- and is -- a human rights violation."

John Walker Lindh was given a 20-year sentence and spared a possible life term under a plea deal in which he pled guilty to aiding the Taliban and carrying explosives, but all terrorism charges were dropped. He has himself also appealed to the president to commute his sentence.

Lindh's parents have mostly been publicly silent, but Frank Lindh said yesterday he's speaking out now because he hopes the story of how his son journeyed from being a California teen to ending up on an Afghan battlefield will help him get clemency. Choking back tears at times, he said, "In simple terms, this is the story of a decent and honorable young man embarked on a spiritual quest."

Do you think Lindh should be granted clemency?

What do you think of Frank Lindh coming out now, more than four years later, and charging that his son was tortured by U.S. forces after he was captured?

Do you believe that Lindh never meant to fight U.S. forces and was just caught in the wrong place at the wrong time?

MINITER MAKES THE FOLLOWING INFORMED OBSERVATIONS REGARIND BIN LADIN'S LATESTS THREATS:

· This is not the first time Bin Laden has offered a truce. In 2004 he offered a truce to the Europeans. And less than a month ago, some Iraq insurgents offered a truce. As with previous offers, I would expect the Bush administration would ignore these offers and refuse to negotiate with terrorists.

· Bin Laden’s offer to help rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan is actually an attempt to rebuild a support among Muslim populations in those two countries, who have borne the brunt of terrorist attacks since 9/11. With Muslim opinion increasingly alienated away from Bin Laden the truce and rebuilding effort is a last chance effort by Bin Laden to win back the hearts and minds of his one-time Muslim supporters.

· Bin Laden’s threat to strike inside the United States is not as credible as it once was. More than 600 individuals linked to Islamic terrorism have been deported from the United States since September 2001. Al Qaeda cells from the Virginia suburbs to Bly, Oregon have been dismantled or disrupted. Finally, the NSA has compiled a global database of tens of thousands of phone numbers of key al Qaeda operatives. Thanks to NSA eavesdropping, we are now positioned better than ever to stop Bin Laden’s attacks. Since 9/11, the U.S. and its allies have killed or captured more than 5,000 al Qaeda operatives in 102 countries, and more than two thirds of its senior leadership has been killed or captured over the same period.

· Bin Laden sounds like Michael Moore. In the audio tape, Bin Laden cites polls showing dipping American support for the war in Iraq and cites news stories emphasizing the growing cost of the war. Like many anti-war activists, he contends that the loss of blood and treasure is too great for America to bear. If so, why is HE the one offering a truce? On 9/11 he used our own planes against us. Today, he is trying to use our own media against us.

· Bin Laden is trying to drive a wedge between President Bush and the American people. By repeatedly emphasizing that Bush has lied to the American people, Bin Laden hopes to summon a war weary population to turn against its president. This suggests that the anti-war tilt of America’s major news outlets is actually encouraging Bin Laden to think that he can divide America and win the war.

· The timing of this tape suggests that al Qaeda’s famed media unit is in tatters. Once the propaganda arm of the terror network could get videotapes onto al Jazeera in hours. This current audio tape took upwards of five weeks to move from Bin Laden to al Jazeera. Al Qaeda’s network is fraying and its reliance on a network of human couriers to smuggle these tapes suggests fearfulness and apprehension on their part.

· What Bin Laden doesn’t say speaks volumes. Unlike the last authentic tape with Bin Laden’s voice on it (December 27, 2004), in this recording Bin Laden does not mention Abu Musab al Zarqawi. This strengthens reports in the Arab media that Bin Laden is openly jealous of the leader of the Iraq insurgency—and desperately wants to reclaim the spotlight for himself. Again, not the mark of a strong and secure leader but one that is desperate to reassert himself and prove that he is still a player.

· This tape, if it is authentic, explodes the myth that Bin Laden died in the recent Pakistani earthquake. This tape should caution analysts who repeatedly predict Bin Laden’s demise, based solely on the fact that “we haven’t heard from him in a while”.

Exclusive New Details In The Farris Hassan Story

Doug Hagmann has all the details at NEIN.

Even the most basic research found that Farris Hassan was NOT enrolled in any journalism class at Pine Crest, which should automatically cast doubt on the true nature of his journey. Lourdes Cowgill, president of the Pine Crest School, said that Hassan was never given an "immersion journalism" assignment and added that there is, in fact, no journalism class at the school. Also, the school confirmed that the boy’s father, Dr. Redha Hassan not only knew of his son’s intended travels, but authorized his absence, which is inconsistent with his initial public statements.

It gets better...

Perhaps most importantly, research and investigation into Dr. Redha Hassan found that he was arrested by the FBI in 1985 for forging 2000 Iraqi passports and military I.D. cards and seeking to forge 2,000 more. Dr. Hassan asked his next-door-neighbor and print store owner Joel Feinstein to make the passports and IDs. According to Feinstein, Dr. Hassan claimed the documents were for his family in Iraq. Feinstein reported the request to the FBI, and became an operational asset for the federal government, leading to Hassan’s arrest. Also arrested were two of Farris's uncles and a "pro-Khomeini" activist identified as Salah Jawad Shubber.

This will break your heart.

"Suffer the Children"
"The first person who should have defended her was the mother," she said. "She was the first person who failed her."

Nixzmary was at home on Jan. 10 when her stepfather, Cesar Rodriguez, went to the store and bought yogurt. Later, when one of the yogurts was missing, Rodriguez allegedly flew into a rage and blamed the 7-year-old.

According to Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes, the stepfather banished the girl to a rodent-infested room with a litter box filled with feces and urine, a wooden chair tied to a radiator and dirty mattresses.

Rodriguez later beat Nixzmary, stripped her naked and dragged her into the bathroom, where he began running cold water in the tub and dunked her head beneath the water, Hynes alleged. The girl was dead the next morning.

Rodriguez and the girl's mother, Nixzaliz Santiago, were indicted Tuesday on charges of second-degree murder, child endangerment and assault. The mother allegedly ignored the loud thumping noises and cries for help that came from the bathroom.

Phone Records Support Sheriff's Dept. In School Shooting

Ralph Penley, the boy's father said he informed deputies the gun was not real before his son was shot. But at an afternoon news conference, Eslinger said that information came at the same time Chris was shot and cited a call made to Ralph Penley at 10:21 a.m., where shots can be heard in the background.

"We had no prior knowledge that the firearm replica he was holding was in fact an air strike pistol," Eslinger said.
Should police respond the same way to a child with a gun as they would an adult with one?

Local6 is reporting...

Also Tuesday, Local 6 News learned that several years ago, Penley wrote a school paper concerning pointing a gun at a police officer.

Seminole County Sheriff Don Eslinger confirmed the Local 6 News report and read from a school paper written by Penley.

"It states, 'If you point a gun at a cop, they will shoot you even if you don't shoot him or a person,'" Eslinger said. "It's just to give you some idea of maybe, possibly state of mind."

It's started already!

These bastards on the left are going after Glenn Beck just like they went after Dr. Laura and Michael Savage.

Media Matters for America Denounces CNN's Decision to Sign Controversial Conservative Radio Host Glenn Beck

Beck has referred to Katrina victims as 'scumbags' and once proclaimed: "It took me about a year to start hating the 9-11 victims' families"

January 17, 2006 (Washington, DC) -- Media Matters for America today criticized the reported hiring by CNN Headline News of controversial, nationally syndicated conservative radio host Glenn Beck. Beck has signed onto the network "for an hourlong talkshow," according to a January 17 report in Variety.

"CNN Headline News' decision to sign Glenn Beck is a slap in the face to the families of 9-11 victims, whom Beck has proclaimed he 'hate[s];' it is a slap in the face to victims of Hurricane Katrina, whom Beck has called 'scumbags,' " said David Brock, President and CEO of Media Matters.

Media Matters has documented some of Beck's more notable comments:

On families of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks: "[T]his is horrible to say, and I wonder if I'm alone in this -- you know, it took me about a year to start hating the 9-11 victims' families? Took me about a year."

On Hurricane Katrina survivors who remained in New Orleans: "And that's all we're hearing about, are the people in New Orleans. Those are the only ones that we're seeing on television are the scumbags -- and again, it's not all the people in New Orleans. Most of the people in New Orleans got out! It's just a small percentage of those who were left in New Orleans, or who decided to stay in New Orleans, and they're getting all the attention."

Discussing disclosures from a caller who claimed to have tortured prisoners in U.S. custody: "I've got to tell you, I appreciate your service. ... Good for you. Good for -- I mean, good for you. Is it because you did it for the country? ... I have to tell you, when all is said and done, I'm glad people like you are on our side."

On filmmaker Michael Moore: "Hang on, let me just tell you what I'm thinking. I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong?"

On the father of Nick Berg, American civilian executed in Iraq: "The want to be a better person today than I was yesterday says he's a dad, he's grieving, but I don't buy that. I'm sorry, I don't buy it. I think he is grieving, but I think he's a scumbag as well. I don't like this guy at all."

"For CNN to tap an unapologetic preacher of hate signals a desperate and misguided ploy for ratings without regard for the thousands of Americans Beck has offended with his malicious commentary," added Brock.

Controversial Words At Sharpton's MLK Event

Hillary: You(blacks) know about the Plantation!

The Video is right HERE. Hillary opens mouth and inserts foot. If Trent Lott said this the media would be crucifying him right now.

How long before the media mentions that Newt Gingrich, just before becoming Speaker of the House, made the same comparison in 1994:

“I clearly fascinate them,” Gingrich said of the Democrats. “I’m much more intense, much more persistent, much more willing to take risks to get it done. Since they think it is their job to run the plantation, it shocks them that I’m actually willing to lead the slave rebellion.” [Washington Post, 10/20/94]

Ray Nagin: It’s Time To Rebuild a “Chocolate” New Orleans (VIDEO)

MAYOR RAY NAGIN: We as black people, it’s time, it’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to rebuild a New Orleans, the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans and I don’t care what people are saying uptown or wherever they are, this city will be chocolate at the end of the day.

Can you imagine if Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer called for a creamy white Orlando? What would the reaction be?

Ray also speaks on behalf of the big man upstairs-Gawd!

"As we think about rebuilding New Orleans, surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it’s destroyed and put stress on this country. Surely he’s not approval (sic) of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also.”

Why is it people like Ray Nagin and Pat Robertson always know God's will but I don't?

Golden Globe Awards Hype Gay-Themed Movies

Ex-Gay Organization Says Hollywood’s One-sided Portrayal of Gay Life is Damaging & Harmful

Orlando, FL- January 16, 2006 Alan Chambers, President of Exodus International, the largest evangelical network of former homosexuals in the world, says tonight’s Golden Globe awards is once again pushing the envelope with nominations for Brokeback Mountain and Transamerica — two controversial new movies centered around the issue of homosexuality and transexuality.

Chambers, himself a former homosexual, says that while some of the themes in both movies explore the unhappiness, pain and promiscuity in gay life, the overarching premise sends the wrong message to Americans about culture and sexuality.

“We hear from hurting individuals every day who are looking for answers beyond the culture’s one-sided ‘born-gay’ response to the issue of homosexuality,” said Chambers. “Messages like the ones emphasized these films only further add to their confusion and desperation.”

“Hundreds of thousands of men and women have rejected the notion that life must be dominated by our unwanted same- sex attractions and have found a way out of homosexuality through Jesus Christ,” said Chambers. “Our desire is to empower others with more information and offer the same hope for change that has brought life and freedom to us.”

Exodus International is a resource and referral organization with over 125 member ministries across North America. The organization has been in existence for 30 years and offers help to the over 400,000 people who contact the ministry each year.

Alan Chambers of Exodus International joins me at 7AM Tuesday to discuss the Golden Globe Award ceremony.

Pair jailed for raping baby

These are the two sick bastards I mentioned on the show this morning. These people are EVIL. There is no need for a trial the photographic evidence is right there. I would gladly pull the trigger and cap both of them in the back of the head. I'd be doing a public service for mankind. Sick! Sick! Sick!

Two babysitters were jailed today for raping a 12-week-old child and taking pictures of the horrific abuse.

Alan Webster, 40, was jailed for life after pleading guilty at St Albans Crown Court to rape, indecent assault, permitting indecent images to be taken of a child and making indecent images in February and March 2004.

His girlfriend Tanya French, 19, was jailed for five years and given an extended licence period of five years after admitting the same charges.

Webster was also found guilty of indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl who was a regular visitor to the home he shared with French in Hatfield, Herts.

The mother of the baby, who was introduced to French by a friend, initially refused the couple's offer to babysit.

But as a single mother she needed help to look after her child when she moved home and needed to decorate, the court heard.

The mother was unaware of the abuse until detectives visited her home after finding photographs detailing the horrific abuse at Webster's home.

Boy Shot At School Had Modified Pellet Gun

It looks pretty REAL to me. If I didn't know better I'd say that's a 9mm Beretta.

Local6 is reporting...
LONGWOOD, Fla. -- A suicidal eighth-grader who briefly took another child hostage before being shot on a school campus by a sheriff's SWAT team member Friday was holding a modified pellet gun, officials said Friday.
Just sit back and watch America's favorite passtime, second guessing the cops, begin!

Student was bullies' target
Chris Penley is quiet and has a tough time at school, some say.

The teen returned to Milwee two weeks ago. He left last spring after he threatened to blow up a school bus and everyone on it, said Adrianne Medlock, who also is a school-district employee.

She said a student on the bus was bullying him, and Chris had had enough. He was disciplined by the district and forced out of school for two or three weeks. He enrolled at Rays of Hope Charter School in Sanford, she said.

Sweaty Teddy Playing The Race Card And Lying At The Same Time

"In an era when America is still too divided by race and riches, Judge "Alioto" has not written one single opinion on the merits in favor of a person of color alleging race discrimination on the job. In fifteen years on the bench, not one."-TK

Michelle Malkin calls him out!

This is, as the Committee for Justice outlines, complete bull. Alito's civil rights record:
Judge Alito repeatedly has ruled for plaintiffs in employment discrimination cases when the law calls for such outcomes.
* In Zubi v. AT&T Corp., 219 F.3d 220 (3d Cir. 2000), Judge Alito dissented from the majority's holding that a man who claimed he was fired because of his race could not sue in federal court. According to Judge Alito, the plaintiff was entitled to sue because a longer statute of limitations applied. The Supreme Court later vindicated Judge Alito's dissent. See Jones v. Donnelly & Sons Co., 541 U.S. 369 (2004).
* In Goosby v. Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc., 228 F.3d 313 (3d Cir. 2000), a race and sex discrimination case, Judge Alito reversed the district court's decision to grant summary judgment to the defendant employer. The Third Circuit ruled that the plaintiff, a black woman, had introduced enough evidence to call into doubt the employer's explanation for why she was given lower-quality assignments.
* In Smith v. Davis, 248 F.3d 249 (3d Cir. 2001), an African-American probation officer brought a claim of race and disability discrimination in violation of Title VII and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Judge Alito joined a unanimous decision to reverse the lower court's grant of summary judgment for the defendant employer.
* Judge Alito's dissent in Sheridan v. DuPont, 100 F.3d 1061 (3d Cir. 1996) (en banc), is a principled balancing of the interests of employees and employers, and the Supreme Court later vindicated it.
* Judge Alito interpreted the Supreme Court's holding in a previous case as requiring that a Title VII plaintiff who produces certain evidence i.e., that the employer's stated reason for the employment decision was false should "usually" but not necessarily "always" be permitted to go to trial.
* The Supreme Court agreed with Judge Alito's Sheridan dissent in Reeves v. Sanderson Plumbing Products, Inc., 530 U.S. 133 (2000). Reeves was a unanimous opinion signed by Justice O'Connor whose seat Judge Alito is poised to take.
* In Bray v. Marriott Hotels, 110 F.3d 986 (3d Cir. 1997), Judge Alito would have affirmed the trial court's ruling for the employer because the plaintiff, an African-American woman, had failed to meet her burden of proof under relevant Supreme Court precedent.
* Marriott explained that it promoted a white female instead of the plaintiff because the white female had a higher objective employee rating, had superior experience, and had participated in more seminars and training sessions.
* Judge Alito argued that discrimination claims of require evidence of actual discrimination, not just evidence that an employer failed to comply with its own internal procedures.
* Judge Alito has held that prosecutors' efforts to exclude African-Americans from juries is unconstitutional discrimination.
* In Jones v. Ryan, 987 F.2d 960 (3d Cir. 1993), an African-American defendant was convicted in Pennsylvania court of robbery and criminal conspiracy; at trial, the prosecutor used peremptory challenges to exclude three African-Americans from the jury. Judge Alito joined a unanimous opinion holding that the prosecutor had discriminated against the potential jurors on the basis of race, and granting the defendant habeas relief.
* In Brinson v. Vaughn, 398 F.3d 225 (3d Cir. 2005), an African-American defendant was convicted of first-degree murder in Pennsylvania court and sentenced to life in prison. The prosecutor had used 13 out of 14 peremptory challenges against African-American potential jurors, and Judge Alito held that this pattern raised an inference of discrimination.

It's All About the Cover

As a U.S. Senator with, by definition, too much time on his hands, Ted Kennedy also branches out as a children's book author. His new opus "My Senator and Me: A Dogs-Eye View of Washington, D.C." will recount a day in the life of a Senator as seen through the eyes of a dog -- you can thank us later for stating the obvious so competently -- who incidentally happens to tread at the same level that politicians operate at. This latest literary effort proves that if done tastefully, a book written by a guy who looks like a Dutch sex offender on holidays in Thailand, can successfully capture the imagination of young children with an early predilection for civic duty.Sen. Sgt. Mark Seavey Gives Murtha, Moran Dose of Reality (VIDEO)

Rep. Murtha and Moran get Bitch Slapped, shut down hard! Ouch!

“Yes sir my name is Mark Seavey and I just want to thank you for coming up here. Until about a month ago I was Sgt Mark Seavey infantry squad leader, I returned from Afghanistan. My question to you, (applause)

“Like yourself I dropped out of college two years ago to volunteer to go to Afghanistan, and I went and I came back. If I didn’t have a herniated disk now I would volunteer to go to Iraq in a second with my troops, three of which have already volunteered to go to Iraq. I keep hearing you say how you talk to the troops and the troops are demoralized, and I really resent that characterization. (applause) The morale of the troops that I talk to is phenomenal, which is why my troops are volunteering to go back, despite the hardships they had to endure in Afghanistan.

“And Congressman Moran, 200 of your constituents just returned from Afghanistan. We never got a letter from you; we never got a visit from you. You didn’t come to our homecoming. The only thing we got from any of our elected officials was one letter from the governor of this state thanking us for our service in Iraq, when we were in Afghanistan. That’s reprehensible. I don’t know who you two are talking to but the morale of the troops is very high.”

Moran - who is one of the few congressmen supporting Charlie Rangel’s call to restore the draft - responded quickly: “That wasn’t in the form of a question, it was in the form of a statement. But, uhh… let’s go over here.” And he took the next question.

For a white man's execution, where are black protesters?

Outcry on behalf of Tookie might be viewed as race-based
Jasmyne A. Cannick of S.F.Gate

Los Angeles -- In the wee hours of the morning of Jan. 17, another man will be put to death by lethal injection in the state of California. This comes exactly 36 days after the execution of Stanley Tookie Williams. But where are the protesters?

With just a few days to go before the scheduled execution of a 76-year-old blind and deaf man who uses a wheelchair, there has been no public outcry of support for clemency for Clarence Ray Allen, who is white. There have been no planned protests and celebrity read-ins in support of saving an old man's life. Community activists and civil rights leaders aren't organizing statewide tours to bring attention to Allen's execution. There hasn't even been one "Kill Clarence Ray Allen Hour" from KFI-AM's "John and Ken Show."

Which raises the question: Was the community cry for clemency for Williams because he was a black man, or was it because the death penalty is immoral, inhumane and cruel?

Granted, Allen hasn't written any children's books, been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, or had a Hollywood actor play him in a film, but that doesn't mean his life isn't worth saving.

Police Officer Charged In Mag Prank

ANDERSON, Ind. -- A police officer has been charged with identity deception for subscribing to magazines and ordering CDs in the name of a firefighter, whose ex-wife is now married to the officer.

Phillip E. Allen, 36, was charged Thursday with two counts of identity deception, a felony.

Police said that on Oct. 9, Allen placed an online order for Playboy, Penthouse, Playgirl and Cosmopolitan in the name of firefighter Chris Baugh, to be delivered to the fire department headquarters.

The next day, Allen ordered a number of music CDs to be sent to fire department headquarters in Baugh's name, police said.

Baugh received a bill for $78 for the magazines.

Allen told investigators he did it to irritate Baugh.
You got to be kidding me? You can get in trouble for this kind of prank? I should be doing hard time. I'll have some stories to tell on-air Monday.

Saddam's Terror Training Camps

Stephen F. Hayes reporting in The Weekly Standard...

What the documents captured from the former Iraqi regime reveal--and why they should all be made public.

THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq. The existence and character of these documents has been confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD by eleven U.S. government officials.

“Iraq was not a breeding ground for terrorism. Our invasion has made it one.”--Sen. Ted Kennedy

"Iraq was not a terrorist haven before the invasion."--Sen. John Kerry

Dogs get sitter, but kids left alone?

Joshua Calero, 9, was tasked with looking after younger brother Jason, 5, who is mildly autistic, while his parents celebrated the New Year in Las Vegas.

Jacob Calero and his wife, Michelle De La Vega, were arrested as soon as their flight touched down on Wednesday. They have been charged with felony child endangerment, which carries a maximum sentence of six years, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

The children's maternal grandmother, Ms Libbey Holden, is now looking after the boys. She said: 'I'm upset at their poor judgment. These kids are helpless.'
Skewed priorities...

The boy said his parents got each other puppies for Christmas - Popo the pug and Pumpkin a poodle-Maltese mix - and arranged for De La Vega's mother to take care of them before leaving town.

'I thought they loved them more than us,' said Joshua.

'When we asked 'Where are the puppies?' Joshua said they're too small to leave home alone, so they were left with an adult,' said Ms Erin Stoker, the boys' godmother and former babysitter.
How young is too yound to leave kids alone?

Banks offer no-interest options for Muslims

The following article appeared on the front page of the Business section in The Detroit News on Tuesday, December 21.

Banks offer no-interest options for Muslims
Traditional home loans go against beliefs in the Koran for devout followers.

Sumaya Boomgaard's situation is familiar to area Muslims who want to balance their faith with the practices of the U.S. banking system. Boomgaard makes dinner in her new home.

Sumaya Boomgaard, a 35-year-old physical therapist, had rented apartments for a decade when she decided it was time to put down some roots.

But she struggled with the idea of a traditional mortgage. Like many devout Muslims, Boomgaard wants to conduct her financial life in accordance with the Koran, the sacred book of the Muslims that forbids paying or receiving interest, or "riba" in Arabic.

"Everyone strives to comply with the rules given to us as Muslims," Boomgaard said.

That is why Boomgaard worked hard to buy her "cozy starter home" in Auburn Hills through a unique interest-free program offered by Ann Arbor's University Bank, among the first of its kind in Metro Detroit.

Boomgaard's situation is familiar to area Muslims who want to balance their faith with the practices of the U.S. banking system. In response, a small number of local lenders and national financial institutions are finding ways for this niche market to buy homes, save money and invest while still honoring their beliefs.

Michigan has one of the largest Muslim populations in the nation, with more than 400,000 Arab Americans. Still, the number of programs available to communities that prohibit interest is limited.

National lenders offer some programs. Freddie Mac has offered home-financing contracts in accordance with Muslim law since 2001 through American Finance House -- LARIBA in Pasadena, Calif. However, the program has received little publicity.

Sign me up for that deal! Sweet! Where can I get my interest free home loan? Are these loans taxpayer backed?

Outrage Of The Week

Rapist's Prison Sentence Triggers Outrage

Burlington, Vermont -- January 4, 2005

There was outrage Wednesday when a Vermont judge handed out a 60-day jail sentence to a man who raped a little girl many, many times over a four-year span starting when she was seven.

The judge said he no longer believes in punishment and is more concerned about rehabilitation.

Prosecutors argued that confessed child-rapist Mark Hulett, 34, of Williston deserved at least eight years behind bars for repeatedly raping a littler girl countless times starting when she was seven.

But Judge Edward Cashman disagreed explaining that he no longer believes that punishment works.

"The one message I want to get through is that anger doesn't solve anything. It just corrodes your soul," said Judge Edward Cashman speaking to a packed Burlington courtroom. Most of the on-lookers were related to a young girl who was repeatedly raped by Mark Hulett who was in court to be sentenced.

The sex abuse started when the girl was seven and ended when she was ten. Prosecutors were seeking a sentence of eight to twenty years in prison, in part, as punishment.

"Punishment is a valid purpose," Chittenden Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Andreson argued to Judge Edward Cashman.

"The state recognizes that the court may not agree or subscribe to that method of sentencing but the state does. The state thinks that it is a very important factor for the court to consider," Andreson added.

But Judge Cashman explained that he is more concerned that Hulett receive sex offender treatment as rehabilitation. But under Department of Corrections classification, Hulett is considered a low-risk for re-offense so he does not qualify for in-prison treatment. So the judge sentenced him to just 60 days in prison and then Hulett must complete sex treatment when he gets out or face a possible life sentence.

Judge Cashman also also revealed that he once handed down stiff sentences when he first got on the bench 25 years ago, but he no longer believes in punishment.

"I discovered it accomplishes nothing of value;it doesn't make anything better;it costs us a lot of money; we create a lot of expectation, and we feed on anger,"Cashman explained to the people in the court.

The sentence outraged the victim's family who asked not to be identified.

"I don't like it," the victim's mother,in tears, told Channel 3. "He should pay for what he did to my baby and stop it here. She's not even home with me and he can be home for all this time, and do what he did in my house," she added.

Hulett -- who had been out on bail-- was taken away to start his sentence immediately.
A judge that doesn't believe in punishment? What the hell is he doing on the bench? This makes about as much sense as a Minister that doesn't believe in forgiveness.

British woman ‘marries’ dolphin, tying the net after 15-year courtship

JERUSALEM - Sharon Tendler met Cindy 15 years ago. She said it was love at first sight. This week she finally took the plunge and proposed. The lucky "guy" plunged right back.

In a modest ceremony at Dolphin Reef in the southern Israeli port of Eilat, Tendler, a 41-year-old British citizen, apparently became the world's first person to "marry" a dolphin.

"It's not a perverted thing. I do love this dolphin. He's the love of my life," she said Saturday, upon her return to London.

When asked in the past if she had a boyfriend, she would always reply, "No. I'm going to end up with Cindy." On Wednesday, she made it official, sort of. While she acknowledged the "wedding" had no legal bearing she did say it reflected her deep feelings toward the bottlenosed, 35-year-old object of her affection.

"It's not a bad thing. It’s just something that we did because I love him, but not in the way that you love a man. It's just a pure love that I have for this animal," she said.
Who are we to judge? Maybe she was born that way, attracted to dolphins. It's just another alternative lifestyle. Look for their new book The Porpoise Driven Life.

Woman Will Likely Live With Bullet In Head

local6 is reporting...

A Central Florida woman who was struck in the face by a stray bullet while watching New Year's Eve fireworks will likely be forced to live with it lodged in her skull, according to a Local 6 News report.

Investigators said Ruby Cintron was standing on the north shoreline of Crooked Lake in the Highlands Lake subdivision off Hiawassee Road after midnight Sunday when she was hit near the eye by the .45-caliber bullet.

An investigation determined that the bullet came from someone who fired into the sky to ring in the New Year.
Shocker!

Cintron, who does not have health insurance, was forced to leave the hospital Tuesday because she cannot afford further care for her injuries, according to the report.
Where's the compassion? Couldn't they work something out? There has to be a better solution!

Bill O'Reilly throws down the gauntlet

Bill O'Reilly threatened to "get into" the "lives" of Bill Keller and Frank Rich of The New York Times because they are "the two main culprits" at the newspaper, which "routinely uses personal attacks to hurt people with whom it disagrees."

On the January 2 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, host Bill O'Reilly threatened to "get into" the "lives" of New York Times columnist Frank Rich and executive editor Bill Keller. O'Reilly admonished Rich and Keller after NPR senior correspondent and Fox News contributing political analyst Juan Williams asked, "[W]hat are you going to do to them [Rich and Keller] if they engage in the politics of personal attack against the president?" Williams was referring to O'Reilly's comments during the "Talking Points Memo" portion of his program, in which he complained that the Times "routinely uses personal attacks to hurt people with whom it disagrees" and that Rich and Keller are "the two main culprits."

From the January 2 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor:

O'REILLY: In the weeks to come, we'll cover the story in a fair and balanced way, even giving the benefit of the doubt to The New York Times. But there is no doubt, ladies and gentlemen, that the Times has been unfair in its coverage of the Bush White House. And the paper also routinely uses personal attacks to hurt people with whom it disagrees. If that does not stop, Bill Keller and Frank Rich -- to name the two main culprits -- will not have a happy new year. As they say in the auction world, fair warning.
[...]
WILLIAMS: Well, I couldn't - I was listening to your -- your memo, your "Talking Points," and there you are threatening Bill Keller and Frank Rich. And I thought, what are you going to do to them if they engage in the politics of personal attack against the president?

O'REILLY: It's a good question, Juan. And I don't see it as a threat. I mean, I think you have to say to people, as we do with all our guests here, this is what's likely to happen. And if they continue, those people continue to attack people personally, as Frank Rich does almost every week, and Keller allows it, then we'll just have to get into their lives.

WILLIAMS: There's a new sheriff in town.

O'REILLY: You know, I'm not -- I don't want to do it. I don't want to do it.

WILLIAMS: All right.

O'REILLY: But I can't allow this stuff to go unchecked. I'm the only person on television that's going to hold these people accountable, the only one, because everybody fears them. But both of those men have led lives. And if they want to attack people personally, Rich in print and Keller allowing it, then we're going to have to just show everybody about their lives.

One has to wonder what kind of goodies O'Reilly has on them? Perhaps some compromising pictures of Frank Rich and a goat?

Got breast milk? Want to sell it?

Los Angeles - Breast has long been best when it comes to feeding babies but a California company has launched the first known venture to commercialise human donor breast milk and develop its use for sick children.
I can see it now large breast feeding farms where lactating women are grain fed pumping out milk 24/7.

Some studies have suggested that human breast milk could be beneficial in the treatment of some cancers, notably prostate cancer, but Medo said Prolacta would not pursue the adult market.
Sometimes the jokes just write themselves. "Honey it's time for my prostate medicine!"

Orlando Swinger Party Upsets Soccer Parents

Some teenage soccer players and their parents saw more sights than they wanted when they stayed at a hotel where about 200 swingers were having a New Year's party.

Paul Camporini brought his wife, seventh-grade daughter and eighth- grade son from Safety Harbor and said he had to "delicately explain to my Catholic school children that swingers change partners during the evening."

"My biggest gripe is that the hotel had two distinctly different groups under the same roof," said Camporini, 49. "A soccer team and middle-aged swingers should not have been booked together."

The families said the sexually adventurous partygoers sometimes flashed breasts and bare buttocks in front of the children as they sashayed through the hotel atrium. The parents described the dress at the Crowne Plaza Hotel-Airport in Orlando as "raunchy, despicable and worse than prostitutes."

"We thought we were coming to Orlando, not the Las Vegas Strip," said Mark Gilbert, the father of a boy who plays on the Clearwater Chargers, a group of 13-and-under players from Florida.

The teams booked the $92-a-night rooms for Disney's Soccer Showcase, and said hotel management did not tell them about the swingers' party or try to keep the partygoers away from the children.

"We're not prudes by any means," said Rob Young of Greenville, S.C., who said his two daughters, Leah, 13 and Lauren, 11, asked questions he struggled to answer. "We would have liked to have been informed when we checked into the hotel so we could have made other arrangements.

"The kids could see through the glass atrium into the ballroom where naked people were dancing. There were exposed breasts, thongs and see- through dresses on women who were not wearing any underwear."

Did the hotel have a responsibility to inform guests about what was going on in the Crowne Plaza Hotel-Airport? Even Disney warns you about Gay Days. How does management make this right? Did anyone get video?

Support for Bush drops among US military: poll

Support for President George W. Bush's Iraq policy has fallen among the US armed forces to just 54 percent from 63 percent a year ago, according to a poll by the magazine group Military Times.

In its annual survey of the views of military personnel, the group reported on its website that support for Bush's overall policies dropped over the past year to 60 percent from 71 percent.
Actions speak louder than words.

Far from being discouraged, our Army and Marine veterans of Iraq have been re-enlisting in startlingly high numbers — knowing they'll be sent back to Iraq. The let's-just-surrender trio of Dean, Reid and Pelosi may believe we're bound to fail, but our troops are voluntarily betting their lives on a win.

Plus...

Our military leaders are so confident about the situation that they believe we can reduce our troop levels significantly in 2006. So much for being defeated.

Who is the White Witch?

For pure comedic value I present the following Letter to the Editor from this morning's Sentinel. I don't even know the writer but she is destined for induction into Pat Campbell's Pantheon for delusional Madmen.

I just saw a movie about an evil ruler who held a country in its grip.

The citizens in this country were bitterly divided between those who supported the government and those who opposed it. Dissenters were afraid to speak out for fear of being labeled traitors, while Loyalists believed the government should be able to spy on its citizens in the name of national security.

Those suspected of being traitors to the state could be judged by the government, without the benefit of a trial by their peers, and spirited away to an undisclosed location where they were tortured. The loyalists earned special favors from the dictator, while the rest of the citizens yearned for a time when once again their leaders would support justice and the rule of law. In this movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, the White Witch is the bad guy. Too bad the Christian right has lined up behind the bad guy in real life.

Must Read:Live and let spy by Ann Coulter

If we must engage in a national debate on half-measures: After 9-11, any president who was not spying on people calling phone numbers associated with terrorists should be impeached for being an inept commander in chief.

Identity Theft 101

This is why we don't want to put Conceal Carry Permit holders information or Voter Registration information on the Internet. It's called identity theft. There are bad people out there that will abuse/misuse the information. Here's the proof...

Arkansas man stole identities from sex offender registry to fund gambling
BENTONVILLE, Ark. - An Arkansas man is facing felony charges after allegedly using a sex offender registry to scam about $20,000 from credit cards and tax refunds in the name of registered sex offenders.

Matthew Buescher, 35, was arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop by a Benton County Sheriff's deputy who found file folders containing financial information on several people. Deputy Doug Gay said Buescher apparently targeted Indiana sex offenders because their information was easy to obtain from the Internet, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

(Not so) grand marshal

The Sentinel manages to get something right for a change.

Our position: Orlando's Citrus Parade deserved better than a talent-show contestant.

Spectators at the Orlando Citrus Parade on Friday could be forgiven for not appreciating its grand marshal. Only diehard fans of American Idol, Fox's amateur singing contest, would have recognized Constantine Maroulis, an also-ran from last spring's competition.

Were there no better choices available to lead Orlando's premier parade than a C-list singer from New York? How about one of the actors, athletes or astronauts who have called Central Florida home? Even a politician might have been an improvement.
